Terraces

Simeri appears like sitting on a giant podium on the top of a mountain. Once we entered the village we immediately noticed the breathtaking 360-degree view over the Gulf of Squillace. It is because of this feature that was first colonized more than two thousand years ago. According to uncertain sources it seems that Simeri was one of the three ancient Greek colonies together with Crotone and Squillace, who controlled the Gulf.
With its morphology Simeri features a multiple breathtaking terraces that are currently either not being used or used as parking spaces.
